A Professional’s Review
A local pro rider from a world tour team (we can’t say who, shhhhh!) took one of our bikes out for a spin. See what he had to say:
Cycle Cote d’Azur has a fleet of brand new bikes and last week I was granted the chance to take one for a spin. They are perfect bikes for every level of rider looking to come and see the beautiful roads that hug the coast and climb the mountains in and around Nice. The bike I tested produced a comfortable and enjoyable ride. The luxury of a carbon frame paired up with always-reliable Shimano components was a great balance of speed and reassurance. One of the best features on the bikes is the gearing. In past years I have always loved climbing but once I moved to Nice I have developed a true understanding of a hilly ride. There are some amazing climbs here and a small climbing gear is needed for even the best of riders.
I hope you all enjoy your ride and have a chance to come explore the riding in Nice!
When do I collect my bike? Bikes must be collected from ‘Cafe du Cycliste’ 29 Rue Marechal Joffre 06000. If you are on one of our group rides you must collect your bike the morning of your ride 30 minutes before ride start, you can leave a bag in the shop whilst you ride. If you are just renting the bike please come in between 9.00 and 17.00.
What do I need to bring? Bring your deposit, some ID (passport/drivers license) to use to fill in hire contract on arrival and we take a photocopy if it, Bring your own pedals, shoes, computer, helmet and water bottles. The bike will have a spare inner tube, multi-tool and pump only. Your bike will have flat pedals if you do not bring your own. You can rent a helmet for €5/£5 a day.
When do I return my bike? If you are on a group ride then you will be brought back to the Cafe du Cycliste, where you will drop off your bike immediately. If you are on a full or multiple day hire then please ensure you bring your bike back by 17.00 Tues-Fri and 15.00 Sat and Sun, if you want it until later please check with us.
